According to Sneak Peek.Ca, Steven Spielberg and author Stephen King will develop an 'event' TV series, based on King's latest novel Under the Dome. Spielberg, King and Stacey Snider will executive produce with DreamWorks TV chiefs Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.Under The Dome, released November 10, 2009, is a rewrite of a novel King attempted writing twice in the late 1970's and early 1980's, under the titles, "The Cannibals" and "Under the Dome".The new book follows events following an 'invisible force field' descending on a small vacation town in Maine, with the locals devolving into warring factions.King said the two unfinished works "were two very different attempts to utilize the same idea, which concerns itself with how people behave when they are cut off from the society they've always belonged to..."
