Adam Brody, Alia Shawkat and Allison Janney are in negotiations to join the previously-announced Hugh Laurie, Leighton Meester and Catherine Keener in family dramedy The Oranges .

Angelina Jolie and Darren Aronofsky are in discussions to adapt Ron Rash's 2008 novel "Serena: A Novel." The project would be a starring vehicle for Jolie, while Aronofsky would direct. Chris Kyle ( Alexander , K-19: The Widowmaker ) wrote the screenplay.

Despite solid competition from two new wide releases, Paramount Pictures' Shutter Island remained on top of the domestic box office with an estimated $22.2 million in its second weekend, a drop of 45.9% in ticket sales. The Martin Scorsese-directed psychological thriller, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, has earned $75 million so far.
