Fox Renews Warners Human Target TV Series
The Fox network produced, Vancouver-lensed TV series, Human Target, based on the DC Comics series has been renewed for a second season.
Human Target is produced by Warner Bros. Television for executive producer Jonathan Steinberg, with Matt Miller (Chuck) taking over the second season as ‘showrunner’.
Supporting the show, a new DC Human Target comic book was released February 10, written by Len Wein/Peter Johnson, featuring art by Bruno Redondo, Sergio Sandoval, Chris Sprouse, Karl Story and cover by illustrator Lee Bermejo.
“…’Christopher Chance’ is a unique private contractor/security expert/bodyguard hired when an unusual or imminent threat cannot be solved through normal means of protection. Chance works with his business partner and trusted friend, ‘Winston’ and hired gun ‘Guerrero’, to integrate himself completely into his clients lives and eliminate the threat by becoming the human target…”
Human Target stars Mark “Boston Legal” Valley as the DC Comics character, created in 1972, by writer Len Wein and illustrator Carmine Infantino, following detective/bodyguard ‘Christopher Chance’ who impersonates clients to eliminate threats.
Writer Peter Milligan and illustrator Edvin Biukovic revived the character in 1999 for a four-issue limited series followed by the graphic novel “Human Target: Final Cut”, an ongoing series that lasted 21 issues.

Metheney Brings The Orchestrion Tour To Toronto
We enjoyed watching and listening to jazz guitarist Pat Metheney and his one-man Orchestrion Tour, May 13 @ Toronto’s downtown Massey Hall.
“There just has never really been a concert like this before,” said the best-selling recording artist.
“It is something new for people, and for me too. And I have never gotten an audience reaction like this. All through Europe, people were going crazy and I think a big part of that comes from the uniqueness of this experience. And for me, it is about the most fun I have ever had onstage. Each night is a new adventure.”
V Continues To Serve Mankind (On A Dinner Platter)
ABC has renewed the Vancouver-lensed, ‘reptilian-agenda’ TV series V for a 13-episode second season, after cancelling Scrubs, Flashforward, Romantically Challenged and Better Off Ted.
Starring Elizabeth Mitchell, V, based on the 1983 mini-series, was one of the most-watched series premieres of the 2009-10 TV season when it debuted to 14.3 million viewers November 2009.
V also stars Morris Chestnut as ‘Ryan Nichols’, Joel Gretsch as ‘Father Jack’, Lourdes Benedicto as ‘Valerie’, Logan Huffman as ‘Tyler Evans’, Laura Vandervoort as ‘Lisa’, Morena Baccarin as ‘Anna’ and Scott Wolf as ‘Chad Decker’.
Inspired by It Can’t Happen Here a 1935 novel by author Sinclair Lewis focusing on fascism in the US, V was originally created by director–producer Kenneth Johnson.
In the 1980′s, DC Comics also published a spin-off comic book series based on the original V TV series.
ABC’s updated V TV series chronicles the arrival on Earth of a technologically advanced alien species which ostensibly comes in peace, but actually has sinister motives.
Executive produced by Scott Rosenbaum, Scott Peters, and Jace Hall, V is produced by The Scott Peters Company, HDFilms and Warner Bros. Television.
“…Giant spaceships appear over 29 major cities throughout the world, and ‘Anna’ (Baccarin), the beautiful and charismatic leader of the extra-terrestrial ‘Visitors’, claims to come in peace.
“‘The Visitors’ claim to only need a small amount of Earth’s resources, in exchange for which they will share their advanced technological and medical knowledge. As a small number of humans begin to doubt the sincerity of the seemingly benevolent Visitors, FBI counter-terrorism agent ‘Erica Evans’ (Mitchell) discovers that the aliens have spent decades infiltrating human governments, businesses, and religious institutions and are now in the final stages of their plan to take over the Earth.
“Erica joins the resistance movement, which includes ‘Ryan’ (Chestnut), a Visitor sleeper agent who over time developed human emotions and now wants to save humanity.
“The Visitors have won favor among the people of Earth by curing a variety of diseases, and have recruited Earth’s youth — including Erica’s son ‘Tyler’ (Huffman) — to serve them unknowingly as spies…”
