Take a look at the latest poster supporting Sony's Toronto-lensed video game adaptation, Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D.The Screen Gems science fiction action horror feature, written/directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Spencer Locke, Wentworth Miller, Boris Kodjoe and Shawn Roberts.The fourth installment in the series of film adaptations based on Capcom's survival horror video game series Resident Evil, is also the first film in the series to be released in 3D.Filming took place in Toronto September to December 2009 using director James Cameron's 3D Fusion Camera System, previously used in Avatar.In the film, the remaining survivors in Los Angeles of the 'T-virus' outbreak, team up against 'Albert Wesker', the head of the 'Umbrella Corporation'.'Chris Redfield', a character from the video games is showcased for the first time in the film franchise. Other characters from the games and films who return include 'Claire Redfield' and'Jill Valentine'.Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D picks up where the third film ended. Since the events of Resident Evil: Extinction, 'Alice' (Jovovitch) has been roaming the world searching for any remaining survivors. She comes face to face with her arch-nemesis, Albert Wesker, for the first time in the series. As she enters the ruined Los Angeles, she stumbles onto a base of Umbrella, surrounded by zombies. She then teams up with a group of survivors who had been hiding in Los Angeles since the T-virus outbreak, and helps them to free another group held-up in a prison, among them Claire's brother, Chris Redfield.Resident Evil: Afterlife is scheduled to be released in 3D and IMAX theaters. September 10, 2010.
