Based on a short story by Jeffrey Eugenides (Middlesex), The Switch is a comedy about artificial insemination. The premise has potential, but this Jennifer Aniston vehicle quickly loses its nerve. The always enjoyable Jason Bateman tries to add some caustic wit, but his effort is in vain.
