According to Sneak Peek.Ca, Steven Spielberg and author Stephen King will develop an 'event' TV series, based on King's latest novel Under the Dome. Spielberg, King and Stacey Snider will executive produce with DreamWorks TV chiefs Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.Under The Dome, released November 10, 2009, is a rewrite of a novel King attempted writing twice in the late 1970's and early 1980's, under the titles, "The Cannibals" and "Under the Dome".The new book follows events following an 'invisible force field' descending on a small vacation town in Maine, with the locals devolving into warring factions.King said the two unfinished works "were two very different attempts to utilize the same idea, which concerns itself with how people behave when they are cut off from the society they've always belonged to..."

Showcase Television has greenlit six episodes of a new TV series from Trailer Park Boys actors Robb Wells, Mike Smith and J.P. Actress Angie "Law And Order" Harmon will next star in the TNT pilot Rizzoli, a 'medical thriller' directed by Michael M. Robin.The show is based on an adaptation of author Tess Gerritsen's Jane Rizzoli mystery novels, following the exploits of a Boston-based homicide detective.Author Gerritsen, also a noted Chinese-American physician, released her first crime thriller, The Surgeon in 2001, with Rizzoli featured as a secondary character in the novel.The poularity of the character then became the central focus in a series of seven books.Director Robin, Janet Tamaro and Bill Haber will executive produce Rizzoli for Warner Horizon...
