Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show
The Fox TV special, Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show will air Sunday, Nov. 8, with live action from series creator/voice over artist Seth MacFarlane and co-star, actress Alex Borstein, showcasing the show’s most popular musical numbers/comedy sketches, plus new animation sequences and celebrity guest appearances.
The ‘variety show’ will debut commercial-free, featuring integrated product promotion for Microsoft’s new Windows 7 operating system.
MacFarlane and Borstein helped create/produce the Microsoft spots that will air throughout the special.
MacFarlane will also present live hosting duties throughout the night’s other Family Guy spin-off series, American Dad and The Cleveland Show.

The New ABC TV Pickups
Disney-owned ABC TV has handed full-season pickups to the single-camera half-hour situation comedies Modern Family, Cougar Town and The Middle.
The ‘mockumentary’ Modern Family debuting September 23, 2009 was created by Christopher Lloyd/Steven Levitan, produced by Fox Television Studios.
Premise follows the families of ‘Jay Pritchett’ (Ed “Married With Children” O’Neill), his daughter ‘Claire Dunphy’ (Julie Bowen) and his son ‘Mitchell Pritchett’ (Jesse Tyler Ferguson).
Claire is a homemaker mom in a traditional family, Jay is married to a younger woman, raising a pre-teen stepson, while gay Mitchell and his partner adopt an Asian baby.
Cougar Town, also premiering September 23, focuses on a recently divorced woman (Courteney Cox), re-entering the ‘dating scene’, to embark on a journey to self-discovery surrounded by fellow divorcees.
Created by Bill Lawrence/Kevin Biegel, produced by Coquette Productions, in association with ABC Studios, broadcast of the pilot episode garnered 11.28 million viewers.
The Middle premiered September 30, starring actress Patricia Heaton as a middle-class, Midwestern mother of three.

Atari Plugs Into Klum’s Project Runway
Atari will adapt the Weinstein Co. reality TV series Project Runway into a new video game, set for a Spring 2010 release.
Runway host/model Heidi Klum and designer Tim Gunn will be involved with the game.
The licensing arrangment will allow for a series of Project Runway games to be created, with the first to launch on NintendoÂ’s Wii, utilizing the ‘Wii Remote Controller’ and ‘Balance Board’.
Players will compete as aspiring fashion designers, outfitting models with hair, makeup and accessories, as well as becoming that model, or taking on the role of a fashion photographer.
Project Runway is currently airing its sixth season, moving from Bravo to Lifetime in a five-year pact, averaging 4.2 million viewers pers show.
Surveys reveal that more women, especially ‘tween’ and teen girls, are turning to videogames for entertainment.

CBS Dives Back Into Hawaii Five-O
CBS has greenlit a TV pilot for a new version of the classic cop series Hawaii Five-O, written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and executive produced by Peter “CSI: NY” Lenkov.
Premise of the original series, airing on CBS 1968-1980, followed the cases of a fictional Hawaiian state police department, led by ‘Steve McGarrett’.
Kurtzman and Orci, co-creators of Fox’s Vancouver-lensed TV series Fringe, recently scripted the feature films Star Trek, Transformers and Mission: Impossible III.

Syfy Seeks The Destination Truth
Destination Truth, the weekly Syfy channel series, produced by Mandt Bros. Productions, follows paranormal researcher Joshua Gates around the world as he investigates claims of the supernatural, mainly in the field of ‘cryptozoology’, aka ‘monsters’.
Each episode is 45 minutes long, featuring two investigations into reports of ‘cryptids’, paranormal creatures that exist in myth and superstition.
Gates leads a group of fellow investigators/cameramen in his treks, interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence and researching local history, then going into the field to capture first-hand evidence of the existence of these legendary creatures.
Debuting in 2007, the current Season 3 (2009) premiere hit a series high with 2.1 million viewers. The second episode of the season broke more ratings records, achieving 2.021 million viewers.

Cox Pads Around Cougar Town
Cougar Town is the new ABC TV sitcom, created by Bill Lawrence, starring actress Courteney “Friends” Cox as a newly single 40-year-old mother with a 17-year old son.
Premise of the show follows ‘Jules Cobb’ (Cox) , a recently divorced 40-year-old Florida woman who ‘re-enters’ the dating scene, “…embarking on a journey to self-discovery while surrounded by fellow divorcees and singletons eager to re-live a time gone by…”

E1 Backing King’s Colorado Kid
Author Stephen King will develop his novella The Colorado Kid into an hour long TV series titled Haven for Canada’s E1 Entertainment.
Former Dead Zone honcho Scott Shepherd will executive produce Haven with Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller. Former Dead Zone writers Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn will script the pilot.
E1′s John Morayniss and Noreen Halpern will also executive produce, committed to producing 13 episodes.
E1 previously set up the Canadian/US series Copper for ABC/Canwest and The Bridge for CBS/CTV.
The Colorado Kid mystery novel was first published in a 2005 paperback-only edition, written by King for the ‘Hard Case Crime’ imprint.
The third-person narrative concerns the investigation of the body of an unidentified man found on a tiny island off the coast of Maine. Lacking any identification or obvious clues, the case reaches nothing but repeated dead-ends. Well over a year later the man is identified, but all further important questions remain unanswered. The two-man staff of the island newspaper maintain a longstanding fascination with the case, and twenty-five years later use the mysterious tale to ply the friendship and test the investigative mettle of a postgrad intern rookie reporter.

Virgin Takes Off With Fly Girls
The CW has greenlit production on the 30-minute ‘docusoap’ Fly Girls, focusing on flight attendants who work for ‘Virgin America.’
The series will follow five Virgin flight attendants as they jet to Las Vegas, New York and South Beach in search of “…good times, great parties, adventure and love…”
Eight episodes from executive producers Jeff “Bridezilla 5″ Collins and Colin “The Hills” Nash have been ordered, targeting a 2010 broadcast debut.
The series will also focus on a Los Angeles home base, looking into the crew’s personal lives.
The series was created by Collins, Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige for Collins Avenue Productions and ContentFilm.
